Patients with an active patient portal account had a no-show rate of 6.2%, compared to 7.9% for patients without, according to the study published July 1. Epic researchers analyzed over 1.6 billion in-person outpatient visits in 2024.
Patients between 50 and 64 years of age had the greatest percentage point difference (6.2% vs. 8.7%). Patients aged 18 to 34 had the smallest difference (9.3% vs. 10.9%).
