Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare and the hybrid care company OnMed have opened a virtual care station at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Conn.

The walk-in telehealth kiosk, sponsored by Hartford HealthCare, connects travelers and airport employees to licensed clinicians who can treat common illnesses, such as heartburn, headaches and respiratory infections. The kiosk is equipped with thermal imaging, real-time body scanning capabilities and vital sign sensors to support medical evaluations.

The OnMed CareStation is the first of its kind in a U.S. airport and aims to expand care access in high-traffic public settings, according to a June 17 news release. Hartford HealthCare and OnMed began their partnership in early 2024, launching a care station at a grocery store in Hartford.
